FERNUNIVERSITAT IN HAGEN

The FernUniversität in Hagen holds a unique position as Germany’s only state distance-learning university. For over 40 years, it has made higher education accessible to students who

want an accredited university education but cannot or do not want to enroll in a traditional on-campus university. Since its establishment in 1975, the FernUniversität has embodied the principle of lifelong learning by providing flexible study formats and opportunities for both self-paced and collaborative study. As Germany’s largest university with approximately 77,000 students, we offer programs in the academic fields of its five faculties Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, Economics and Business Administration, Psychology as well as Law.

EUCEN

EUCEN, the European university continuing education network, is an international non-governmental non-for-profit association founded in 1991 and registered under Belgian law in 1994. It currently has 170 members in 36 different countries, mainly universities actively committed and involved in the development of University Lifelong Learning (ULLL). It includes 17 European National/Regional Networks for ULLL and 8 associations concerned with the education of adults. eucen is the founding associations of the LLL Platform.

UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI DI MILANO-BICOCCA

In 1998 the old buildings of the Pirelli factory in the North-Eastern part of Milan were turned into a state-of-the-art complex including modern research laboratories, big study areas and common areas for students. The Milano-Bicocca campus has 28 buildings spread all over Milan and Monza, plus research centres abroad, like the MaRHE Center in the Republic of Maldives. The teaching staff is composed of 900 people.

Since its foundation in 1998, the University of Milano-Bicocca has reached beyond its borders entering into various agreements with European and non-European universities. In less than twenty years the University of Milano-Bicocca has achieved the highest national and international honours.

Canice Consulting Ltd.

Canice Consulting Limited (CCL) is a small, outward looking company that specialises in vocational training and innovation support for regional development initiatives, especially in relationship to digital innovation and digital pedagogy.

Officially registered in 2014 the firm’s roots go back to 1996 when founder, Canice Hamill, first began leading the design, development and implementation of regional, national and European development projects from his home base in Northern Ireland. Today the company operates from a small headquarters in Lisburn and brings together a core staff of four and a network of six associates with specialist knowledge in the fields of digital pedagogy, digital collaboration, entrepreneurship education, collective impact and more.

University of Jyväskylä

The University of Jyväskylä JYU (http://www.jyu.fi) is an internationally renowned research university and an expert in education that focuses on human and natural sciences. The University is strongly linked to top national and international research, business and innovation communities. JYU has 15 000 degree students. Including adult education the total number is 40 000 students. The number of personnel is 2 500.

JYU has received HR Excellence in Research award. The recognition signals that the HR policy at the JYU can guarantee that the status of researchers at the University meets the EU targets.

Open University of Catalonia

Since its creation in 1994 as a state-of-the art technological university with a highly innovative learning model, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC, Open University of Catalonia)  is one of the world’s premier online Higher Education universities, now engaging more than 50,000 students.

The UOC’s core goal is to be the university of the knowledge society, promoting innovative education, personalised learning, technological leadership, R&D work on the information society and eLearning. Currently, its research, innovation and transfer activity led by some 400 researchers organized into 46 groups. Each group belongs to one of the University’s seven departments or teaching areas or to one of its two main research centres (the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute or eLearn Center).
